I want to thank all the students for participating in our Earth Day clean up. Our recycled mascot looks wonderful!

Tomorrow morning is the final opportunity to have your writing piece, “How Can We Make Earth Every Day?” entered into the competition.  If you have chosen not to enter your writing, it is due to me on Monday.

Tomorrow we will be going to the Computer Lab to continue writing your States of Matter Article. Remember to check the success criteria posted on the bulletin board.

We are still focusing on summarizing in reading. Check the success criteria for help.

We talked about the use of capitals today. There should be no reason why some of you are not capitalizing your name, titles and the beginning of sentences.

Please be sure to show your recent math test to mom and/or dad. The extra practice sheets ,some of you have, are to be completed for Friday. On Friday, those for you who did not get a Level 3 of the final fractions test are invited to visit the Homework Club to re test your knowledge.

Study your Fractions

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 7:40 pm and

Tomorrow you will be tested on your knowledge of fractions. In particular you will be given a fraction such as 2/3 for which you will need to draw a model and find equivalent fraction for. Also, you will need to draw and place the fraction on a number line, as a fraction and as a decimal number. Here is the sample question you were given today for preparation – Show 1/2 as a decimal, picture, on a number line and name as many equivalent fractions for 1/2 as you can.  Do the same for any fraction with a denominator of 10, 4 and 8. Remember the problem solving strategies we have talked about this year and have posted on the chalkboard.

Thursday is the day you must hand in your good copies for the writing piece, “How Can We Make Earth Day Every Day?” They must be handed in on Thursday in order to be considered for the school wide contest.

Tomorrow is Mr. Gordon’s final day with us. He has been a wonderful support to all of us and I wish him very well in his future endeavours.

Our class Earth Day clean up is Wednesday. Bring gloves to protect your hands. From here we will be finishing our Earth Day Mascot.
